Understand Job of Legal Audio Typing or Legal Transcription

The legal process is such that it continuously requires extensive and systematic documentation. In many nations, like the US and UK, this process is done by lawyers themselves wherein they choose to record their profiling of a case or their handling of a certain case in the form of audio dictations. However, when the papers of a case are filed in court or stored for a legal firm’s reference purpose, it is usually stipulated that proper, paper-based or electronically field documentation is provided. Thus, lawyers seek the help of legal typists. These are also called legal transcribers. Such professionals convert legal dictations into the written format. For this role, the legal audio typist needs to have an extensive understanding of the words used in legal documentation or the legal process along with having comprehensive understating of the language used by the client and more than average keyboarding skills. Across the world, such jobs are being increasingly outsourced to nations like India and the Philippines that boast of a large English-speaking population that has good PC and keyboarding skills.
