B.El.Ed (Bachelor of Elementary Education) is four year incorporated specialized degree programme of elementary teacher education which is available for the students completed their 10+2 studies. This programme is Multilanguage programme and it is conceptualized by the MACESE (Maulana Azad Centre for Elementary and Social Education) which is a branch of Education, University of Delhi.
This programme was launched in the academic year 1994-95, it is considered as an effort headed for fulfilling the need for professionally capable elementary school teachers. B.El.Ed is designed to combine the subject knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, human development and communication skills. Both academic and professional options are available to the students who are graduated with a B.El.Ed Degree Programme.
B.El.Ed programme is offered by the colleges of Delhi which are providing undergraduate courses. Through B.El.Ed Programme apprehension of elementary education department has been involved with the Delhi University. It has also improved the professional status of teachers working in elementary schools by providing the B.El.Ed degree from University Degree. Currently it is available in eight women colleges of University of Delhi.
Applying for Admission in B.El.Ed Programme
1. Before filling in the application form, individuals are advised to check the Prospectus carefully to ensure that they are eligible for the programme and they can fulfil the conditions as mentioned in the prospectus.
2. Duly completed Intelligent Computer Recogniser (ICR) application form, along with Acknowledgement Receipt should be submitted to Department of Education, University of Delhi. University remains close on Sundays and on gazetted holidays. No delays will be entertained by the University.
Eligibility/Qualifications Required for B.El.Ed Programme
An individual seeking admission in B.El.Ed program (Bachelor of Elementary Education) should have pass class 12th examination from any Recognised Board of Education with minimum of 55% marks in the aggregate and 50% marks in selected four subjects.
